Pacquiao vs De La Hoya Fight Results: Manny Pacquiao Went to the Gym

Manny Pacquiao went to the gym, and had a great time boxing his sparring partner Oscar de la Hoya. Seriously, it was a fight dominated by the Pacman from start to the end of 8th round. Oscar came in surprisingly weaker, and landed too few punches to hurt Pacquiao.

Pacquiao was just too quick, and landed a total of 224 punches of the 584 thrown at De La Hoya. Likewise, De La Hoya only made 83 punches out of the 402 thrown at Manny, a dismal 21% conversion as against Pacquiao’s 38% performance.

Pacquiao landed a strong upper cut to Oscar de la Hoya’s nose in the second round and another punch that left a cut in his left eyebrow. The bleeding have made the situation even worse for the Golden Boy, who barely landed solid punches until the fight stoppage at the end of 8th round, when probably avoiding a potential knockout, De La Hoya’s corner called in to stop the fight.

Residents of Culasi town in Antique province are worried over the possibility of contamination of toluene di-isocyanate coming from a capsized ship off the coast of the town.
M/V Ocean Papa sank off the coast of Culasi at the height of typhoon Frank (international codename Fengshen) and it was carrying 80 container vans of the toxic chemical.
Residents said their livelihood, mainly fishing, has been affected by the incident, especially since the Philippine Coast Guard is still searching for the container vans.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) said the chemical is dangerous to human and marine life.
The DENR also recommended residents not to open the chemical containers that could wash ashore and to report these immediately to authorities.
There have been no reports of any fishkill incidents in the area around the ill-fated vessel.

Ang MV Princess ay nagawa noong 1984,at nagbibigat ng 23,824 tonelada ang bigat ng barkong ito.
Ang barkong MV Princess of the Stars na naglululan ng mahigit na 800 na mga pasahero ang iniulat na lumubog malapit sa Sibuyan Island dahil sa kasagsagan ng bagyong "Frank" kahapon ng tanghali.Kaugnay nito, apat na bangkay ang umano'y namataan malapit sa sinasabing pinaglubugan ng barko, at pati na rin mga nakalutang na life jackets at tsinelas.Sinabi naman ni San Fernando, Romblon Mayor Nanette Tansingco na mayroon pa umanong iba pang bangkay na namataan naman malapit sa Baranggay Mabulo.
Sa Baranggay Mabulo, may nakitang babae at lalakeng patay na nasa 40 taon gulang ang idad.Maraming tsinelas ng mga bata ang nakita sa dalampasigan. Sinabi pa ni Tansingco na bago pa lumubog ang barkong "Princess of the Stars" sa Romblon ay nakatanggap na sila ng inisyal na ulat tungkol dito pero hindi naman umano sila makalapit sa lugar dahil sa lakas ng alon at "zero visibility" pa.
Nauna rito, sinabi naman ng Philippine Navy sinubukan nilang lapitan ang naturang barko ngunit wala silang magawa dahil sa lakas ng alon at lakas ng ihip ng hangin.Napag-alaman na na dispatch na rin ng Philippine Coast Guard ang kanilang Search and Rescue (SAR) vessel na BRP Davao del Norte upang sagipin ang mga biktimang lulan ng lumubog na barko.Sinabi rin ng Coast Guard kahapon na pinadala na rin nila ang BRP Pampanga para makatulong sa isinasagawang search and rescue operation sa Romblon.
Bukod sa Search and Rescue teams, ang BRP Pampanga, ay mayroon ding isang oil spill response team para suriin kung nagkaroon ng pagtagas ng langis kaugnay ng paglubog ng "Princess of the Stars" na pag-aari ng Sulpicio Lines.
